She Gave Herself One Year to Make Crime Junkie Pay. Now She Runs a Podcast Network | Fortune DailyAshley Flowers started a true-crime podcast with her best friend and gave herself one year to make it pay the bills. Today she runs one of the biggest independent podcast networks in America. Flowers launched Crime Junkie in 2017. It's now the second most downloaded show on Apple Podcasts, and her company, Audiochuck, has its own team of journalists reporting every case. But growing the company has been hard: staff turnover, a new CEO, and a recent decision to shut down her second-biggest show so she could spend more time with her daughter.
