Earlier in the day, celebrities were showing off their playful voting-day selfies and encouraging their followers to head to the polls. A mere hours later, as Republican nominee Donald Trump draws ahead in the polls, the tone on social media has shifted significantly.
Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus haven’t tweeted since posting cheerful “I voted” selfies, but other influencers are visibly panicking on social media. Actress Alyssa Milano tweeted, “Is it possible that this country is more sexist than racist? May God help us all.”
