Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has announced that she is now in remission after nearly a year of treatment for an unspecified cancer.

She made her announcement following a visit to the Royal Marsden hospital in London, where she received her treatment. There, she spent time with current patients while expressing gratitude for her own treatment.

“We couldn’t have asked for more,” Middleton wrote in a post on X. “The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”

In the post, Middleton also unveiled her new role as “Joint Patron” at the Royal Marsden, in which she will be “supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing.”

In this role, Middleton says she hopes “we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer.”

Now in remission, Middleton has her eyes set on the future.

“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to,” Middleton wrote.

Last March, Middleton announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer following speculation and conspiracy theories after her absence from the public eye and an abdominal surgery in January of last year.

That surgery was for a non-cancerous condition, Middleton said in her initial video statement last January. Later, however, tests revealed the presence of cancer.

In September of last year, Middleton posted an emotional video on X declaring that she finished her chemotherapy treatment, filled with clips of her holding tightly onto her husband, William, Prince of Wales, and moments with their three children hiking through the forest, walking on the beach, picnicking, and playing cards.
