Wang Fengying was already one of China’s most established car executives when she took the president role at EV startup XPeng. She had spent three decades at Great Wall Motor, one of China’s largest carmakers. She’s bringing her expertise to electric cars and XPeng, which reported an 88% jump in revenue last year to 76.7 billion Chinese yuan ($11 billion) and trimmed its annual loss to just $160 million. XPeng is now expanding beyond cars, dropping “Motors” from its official name as it moves into AI, chips, robotics, and assisted driving.
