Kim Posnett is more than a year into her latest role at Goldman Sachs, which she joined in 2005. After years leading the bank’s global technology, media, and telecommunications group, in early 2025 she became global cohead of investment banking and gained a coveted seat on Goldman’s management committee. It turned out to be a record year for large-scale M&A, with Goldman advising on more than $1.6 trillion of M&A transaction volume, approximately $250 billion ahead of any peer. Under Posnett’s leadership, Goldman increased its income from investment banking fees by 21% to $9.34 billion. She calls today an “era of broad, bold, and ambitious strategic dealmaking.”
