Anthropic, the AI company cofounded by Daniela Amodei, just keeps climbing and climbing. A February funding round valued the business at $380 billion, up more than 500% from this time last year. Meanwhile, on secondary markets, its valuation has soared as high as $1 trillion. Its chatbot Claude has also grown in popularity with consumers as well as enterprises, with many drawn to its products Cowork and Claude Code, which passed a $2.5 billion run rate. Daniela Amodei serves as Anthropic’s president; her duties include overseeing teams that help ensure its AI models are safe and trustworthy. That reputation has been crucial over the past year, which saw Anthropic and CEO (and Daniela’s brother) Dario Amodei go head-to-head with the Pentagon over the ability to use AI for autonomous lethal weapons and domestic mass surveillance.
