Founded in 2003 as a macro hedge fund by prominent trader Dan Morehead, Pantera Capital made an early and hugely successful pivot to crypto. The firm became the first to launch a cryptocurrency fund in the U.S. in 2013, when Bitcoin was worth less than $100. Pantera went on to bet on some of the biggest names in crypto, including Ripple, Circle, and Coinbase. More recently, the firm has been a pioneer in the field of digital asset treasuries, and bet on the fast-emerging field of real-world assets.
