Marriott has been the world’s largest hotel group since its 2015 merger with Starwood Hotels. It manages and franchises more than 35 brands, spanning from luxury offerings like JW Marriott, the Ritz-Carlton, and St. Regis to more budget-friendly options such as Courtyard by Marriott and Four Points by Sheraton. Its portfolio also includes W, Renaissance, and Westin. Beyond traditional hotels, Marriott operates long-term stays; a “glamping” brand called Postcards with 1,200 rural cabins; and two luxury cruise yachts. As of early 2025, Marriott oversaw 1.7 million accommodation units globally, with roughly 1 million in North America.
