BNY is the world’s largest custodian bank and securities services company, holding over $55 trillion in assets. It’s also one of the biggest asset managers in the world with roughly $2.1 trillion in funds. BNY serves over 90% of Fortune 500 companies, as well as central banks and sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and other financial institutions. Founded in 1784 by Alexander Hamilton, the Bank of New York merged with Mellon Financial Corp. in 2007 to create the current company.
