Not everyone wants to spend Thanksgiving in the kitchen. Some are more than happy to trade in a homemade meal for one from a restaurant.

Whether you’re on your own, recognize your own limits as a cook or simply don’t want to deal with the extensive cleanup that comes with preparing a Thanksgiving dinner, you have plenty of options. Just as there are several retailers that are open for business on Thanksgiving, many restaurant chains stay open as well. (And, of course, there are always locally owned food service places that are offering Thanksgiving dinner specials.)

Here’s a look at some of the places you can grab a bite, and it doesn’t have to be turkey, on Thanksgiving.

Note that hours may vary and some franchisees may opt not to be open. Certain municipalities also have laws affecting whether stores are allowed to open. It’s always a good idea to call first.
