Yes, Black Friday has been stretched to a multi-week event this year by some companies. And yes, many retailers began offering their best deals on Thanksgiving (or even Wednesday night). But there’s still something exciting about Black Friday shopping.

For some, it’s the sense of camaraderie. In the earliest hours of the day after Thanksgiving, everyone is full of the holiday spirit and, often, will offer tips on some of the best deals they’ve heard about. It’s a community, of sorts, though one that deteriorates somewhat through the day as doorbuster stock runs low and the crowds get thicker.

Planning on getting an early start on Black Friday 2019? Here’s when several major retailers plan to open their doors.
