It’s finally here: the shrug emoji.
Well, it will be here when Apple (AAPL) rolls out iOS 10.2, according to the tech giant’s developer preview. The update fully supports Unicode 9, so users will have access to the 72 emojis Unicode accepted back in June. In addition to the shrug emoji, there’s the face palm, selfie, owl, pancakes, and avocado. The last one will help us immortalize the fruit if we fail to reverse the nation’s avocado shortage.
In addition to Unicode 9 support, Emojipedia reports that the update will include emoji professions from the Emoji 4.0 update. This means women and men in all skin tones will appear as firefighters, judges, cooks, and scientists.
“The new art style is more bulbous, with sharp details which are beautiful,” Emojipedia reports. “While it’s a shame to lose some of the hand crafted details of the original set, this new 3D-style set looks like a cohesive collection for the first time.”
