9/11 Day is a non-profit organization that works towards the goal of “[keeping] alive the spirit of unity and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.”
It launched a video campaign featuring some of the 3,000 children who were born on September 11, 2001. They ask us to stop fostering hateful thoughts, and instead do at least one good deed next Friday to honor the victims and responders on the 14th anniversary of the attack.
Andreas Dahlqvist, the chief creative officer at Grey New York, the agency that filmed the campaign, told Adweek that when they interviewed the kids, none of them expressed any feeling of wanting to have been born on a different date. “In fact, they feel strongly that they represent what’s good in the world.”
Hillary O’Neill is the spokeskid for this campaign. In the video, she speaks about how the world has transformed in the past 14 years. She empowers the viewer by saying that we are the ones who transform it by doing good deeds.
