A suburb of Salt Lake City, Clearfield City is a beautiful town with spectacular views of the Wasatch Mountains. Residents can take advantage of an abundance of outdoor activities. The Great Salt Lake Shoreland Preserve, which spans 4,400 acres and is home to more than 250 species of birds, draws hikers and birders to its popular, family-friendly trails. Clearfield’s central location means easy access to the numerous surrounding mountain trails and ski slopes. 

 

The city borders Hill Air Force Base, the second largest Air Force base and the biggest single-site employer in the state, which has created thousands of jobs. It’s also the location of Lifetime Product headquarters, another major employer.

 

The larger county of Davis has a high-quality medical center recognized for its stroke care. The city prioritizes well-being for older adults and has about a dozen nursing homes nearby and a senior activities center that hosts yoga and art classes. —Alexa Mikhail
