Susan Li became Meta’s CFO in 2022 at just 36 years old. The appointment was the culmination of 14 years spent rising through the ranks of the tech giant’s finance organization. (After graduating from Stanford, she spent a couple of years at Morgan Stanley before joining Facebook in 2008.) Now, Li is helping steer Meta through one of the biggest investment cycles in its history: a massive AI build-out that has reshaped the company’s spending priorities and long-term strategy. In 2025, Meta crossed $200 billion in annual revenue for the first time, while Li helped oversee nearly $70 billion in capital spending as the company raced to build the infrastructure behind its AI ambitions. She has also opened the door to outside financing and partnerships for data centers, a sign of just how significant Meta’s AI bet has become.
