When Roshni Nadar Malhotra succeeded her father, Shiv Nadar, as chairperson of HCL Technologies in July 2020, she inherited one of India’s most storied tech companies. HCLTech has now grown into a business with $14.7 billion in revenue. Nadar Malhotra is positioning her company as an AI-native enterprise; advanced AI revenue is $620 million on an annualized basis. It’s also pushing into the semiconductor industry in a new joint venture with Foxconn. She’s changing the company in other ways, too: Its board is now 50% women, one of the highest shares of any major global technology company. According to the 2025 Hurun India Rich List, she’s now India’s richest woman, and the fifth richest woman globally. Still, the company’s shares have lost more than a quarter of their value year to date, as of May 19, 2026, as “SaaSpocalypse” fears spread to India’s critical IT consulting sector.
