Penny Pennington is the only woman in the U.S. leading a brokerage firm of Edward Jones’s scale. Since becoming its sixth managing partner in 2019, she has added nearly 2 million clients and more than $1 trillion in assets under care to a firm she joined as a financial advisor in 2000. In 2025, Edward Jones posted net revenue of $17 billion, up 11%, and assets under care of $2.5 trillion, up 14%. That growth was driven by rising fee revenue and deeper client relationships across 20,550 financial advisors in more than 15,000 branches. The biggest move yet of her tenure may be the upmarket pivot: In May 2025, she launched Edward Jones Generations, the company’s first private-client service targeting households with $10 million or more in investable assets, with exclusive hub locations now open and alternative investments (private equity, private credit, and private real estate) available for the first time in the company’s history. She simultaneously filed for and received conditional approval from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions (UDFI) to establish Edward Jones Bank. She also launched Edward Jones Ventures, a strategic and capital partner to innovators, signaling a company built on Main Street relationships is methodically becoming a full-spectrum financial institution.
