Blanca Treviño cofounded Softtek in 1982 as a recent graduate in Monterrey, Mexico, and has spent more than four decades building it into one of Latin America’s most globally consequential technology companies. She is also the woman most credited with inventing the nearshore IT delivery model that now defines how U.S. companies staff and run their technology operations. That model, which positioned Mexico and Latin America as the natural talent base for U.S. digital transformation work, has become an industry standard, and under the tailwinds of broader nearshoring momentum, Softtek has grown to more than 15,000 employees across 30 offices spanning Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the U.S. In December 2025, Gartner named Softtek a Challenger in its Magic Quadrant for Custom Software Development Services, while Forrester recognized it as a Strong Performer in Modern Application Development Services. These consecutive analyst endorsements validate Treviño’s decades-long push for global credibility. She is now embedding AI across Softtek’s service stack through proprietary platforms including FRIDA, an agentic AI framework for intelligent process automation, and blauLabs, an AI-and-IoT industrial efficiency platform, betting AI-native delivery is the next frontier she helped pioneer.
