Liu, the daughter of Lenovo's founder Liu Chuanzhi, clocked twelve years at Goldman Sachs before joining Didi Dache in 2014 as chief operating officer. Last year, Liu was named President of Didi Chuxing—the new company that resulted from Didi’s merger with its chief competitor, Kuaidi Dache, in early 2015. Under Liu’s direction, the ridesharing giant has upped its workforce from 700 to 5,000, raised $3 billion in funding, and formed global rideshare partnerships with Lyft, GrabTaxi, and Ola—all in just the last year-and-a-half. Most impressive of all, Liu helped lead Didi to victory over Uber. In August, Uber agreed to merge with Didi, making the company worth an estimated $35 billion.
