K-beauty retailer CJ Olive Young is gunning for global scale. Lee Sun-jung, the first woman to lead the CJ Group unit, has run it since being appointed in late 2022. Foreign shoppers now account for a third of in-store sales, and in May the company opened its first U.S. store, in Pasadena, one of five planned California locations. Olive Young took a record 21.5% of Korea's beauty retail market in the first half of 2026.
