Metaplanet

Founded in 1999 as a music distribution company, Metaplanet became a hotel business and then eventually pivoted to a Bitcoin treasury strategy in 2024, modeling itself off of Michael Saylor's Strategy. The company is based in Tokyo and is now Japan's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. As of May 2026, it held more than 40,000 Bitcoin, worth nearly $3 billion.
