PayPal cofounders Peter Thiel, Ken Howery, and Luke Nosek launched Founders Fund in 2005. The venture firm's blockbuster investments include Facebook, SpaceX, Palantir, and Airbnb. Still, Founders Fund also has a formidable crypto portfolio. The firm first began buying Bitcoin in 2014 and then sold ahead of the 2022 market collapse, bagging nearly $2 billion in returns. Founders Fund has also invested in the blockchain network Lighter, the prediction market Polymarket, and the crypto exchange Bullish.
