Brothers Bart and Brad Stephens founded Blockchain Capital in 2013. Brock Pierce, a former child actor from The Mighty Ducks and longtime crypto personality, also cofounded the firm but has since left. Blockchain Capital is one of the industry's oldest crypto venture firms and invested early in Ethereum and in crypto exchanges Coinbase and Kraken. The VC had nearly $2.9 billion in assets under management as of late 2025.
