American Bitcoin is part of the Trump family's sprawling crypto empire. Eric Trump is a cofounder and his brother Donald Trump, Jr. is an investor. The Miami-based company is 80% owned by another mining firm, Hut 8, and went public in September 2025. While the company was initially valued at a high of $8.5 billion, its market capitalization has plummeted 85% to around $1 billion as of June 2026.
