Fortune

To determine the Best Workplaces in Transportation in 2026, Fortune partnered with global people analytics firm Great Place to Work to analyze survey feedback representing nearly 60,000 U.S. employees.

Employees say:"In 2018 my spouse was diagnosed with cancer and both my company and team members stepped up in many ways to support during that unexpected time of need. My company not only provided me an expected period paid of leave, they also extended me the courtesy of working remotely as I attended to her throughout her treatments, multiple surgeries and the (unforeseen) extended period of recovery and home care that occurred over a 18 month period. The many acts of kindness, professionalism and genuine caring demonstrated by both my company and teammates is what makes this Delta Air Lines a great place to work."

Delta Air Lines

Employees say:"My manager treats me like a person, not an employee. He listens. He cares. He provides support, proactive and when I request it. He helps strategize ways for people to succeed. He gives to people as much as they need or want freely. He gives credit, doesn't take it. He truly inspires for his team to be great, not him. He is a solid communicator who speaks and listens respectfully. Ultimately, I know I'm protected and respected, so I find it very easy to login daily and often work late just to give back to the person that gives so much."

DHL Group

Employees say:"Something I've found unique about this company has been managements support. I started in a role that wasn't the right fit for me and something I found amazing is the HR manager, at the time, sat and discussed my skills and found a role better suited for me. He partnered me with a manager that I love. She is one of the many managers along my career path with Martin Brower that has made a lasting impact on me. I love the management culture here."

Martin Brower

Employees say:"TQL hosts top notch events, promotes from within plus is full of people and managers that genuinely care about their employees and the impact they have on their development. People genuinely enjoy coming to work every day because they feel supported. Logistics can be a stressful industry, but TQL realizes that and goes the extra mile to make sure employees still have a fun culture and support always. We take pride in our customer service."

Total Quality Logistics

Employees say:"I love the culture here. Even though we're 'fast-paced' and have many moving parts as an organization, we 'gel' very well with each other and I enjoy coming to the office to see my work peeps. The entire operation is unique and unusual, we are providing a 5-Star service to global clients, sometimes at a moment's notice. From IT all the way to the MRT on the ground completing maintenance on a tail we are a well-oiled machine, and we're only getting better with every day."

Vista America

Employees say:"Velocity does a great job of allowing its people to have a life outside of work. Quality time with family and watching my child grow up are very important to me. I feel Velocity encourages us to take the time we need to (within reason) so that we can maintain a positive work/life balance."

Velocity Vehicle Group/VVG

Employees say:"What makes this company unique is the strong sense of teamwork and support. Leaders are approachable and always open to feedback, which creates a culture of trust. For example, I've seen managers step in to personally help employees during busy times, which shows that no one is above the work and we are all in this together."

Safeway Moving

Employees say:"We express our care for people in personal and special ways. We send small tokens to support people when they lose a loved one as well as in celebration of major life events such as marriage, a baby or a new home. We embrace new employees as a full and immediate member of this family and we come together to support each other in good and bad times. We don't just say we are a family, we show it."

Mohawk Global Logistics

Employees say:"OSM is more employee-focused than any other place I've worked at. There are constant engagement programs running, leadership is down to earth and always asks for staff's opinions, and the company will take a financial hit if it results in a better outcome for employees."

OSM Worldwide

Employees say:"There is a strong problem solving spirit across the company's culture, you are seen and cared for as an individual, and there is a strong sense of camaraderie. Where there is hard work, there is also flexibility on what you can do and learn within within the company if you're willing to experiment."

Logistics Plus Inc.

Employees say:"I cannot emphasize enough how much I value the fact that co-workers, both teammates and managers alike, actually treat me like a human being with my own thoughts, feelings, and autonomy. I literally felt like a tool working at all the other jobs I had prior, so it's nice to feel like I actually genuinely matter to people here. That's so hard to find these days. I appreciate being accepted for who I am!"

Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, Americas

Employees say:"What makes this company a great place to work is the people. I have been fortunate to work with an incredibly talented, supportive, and collaborative team that genuinely wants each other to succeed. Whether we're tackling a complex project, meeting tight deadlines, or solving unexpected challenges, there is always a willingness to share knowledge, offer help, and work together toward the best outcome."

SeaCube Container Leasing

Employees say:"Our 'invaluable recognition' system has been inspiring for our entire team. We celebrate others' wins and get rewarded financially when nominated. I also appreciate the survey we do when we onboard about how we would like to be rewarded for tenure, positive customer feedback, etc. We are rewarded with perks that are employee specific. The teambuilding with our quarterly leadership meetings is empowering and really inspires the entire team to take initiative and move forward with our goals we set each quarter. The culture here has been the best out of any company I've ever worked for."

Full Good Fulfillment & Logistics Agency

Employees say:"Our B Corp status is unique given our industry. We focus a lot on giving back and impact."

Vector Global Logistics

Employees say:"WWLP is a great environment, always on the cutting edge of technology and has the backroom operations to assist all employees in their day to day work flow. I think this is one of the best places I have ever been associated with."

Worldwide Logistic Partners

Employees say:"What stands out to me about working at RIC is that the airport is small enough for people to see the impact of their work, but important enough that the standards still matter. In a role like mine, you can see directly how cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation affect both employees and the traveling public. That makes the work feel meaningful. "

Capital Region Airport Commission

Employees say:"Truly the company follows through with what they say, they do. They care about their employees and continue to work hard to make the company the best work environment."

High Desert Distributing

Employees say:"The working environment is very relaxed and calm. I never feel rushed to get shipments out and always feel like I can reach out with any and all questions (even if they might seem dumb lol). The work we do here is valued and appreciated daily from the highest up individuals and that feedback has been so crucial when dealing with all the industry changes this past year. I came from a different brokerage company hoping for a change in environment and work style and have gotten far more than I could have imagined. I plan on working at this company until I retire, I would not want to be anywhere else."

Willson International

Employees say:"As big as it has gotten it still has that family owned business feel. It is not uncommon to have the CEO/Owner walk around on a daily basis just to talk to all employees about not only their respective work but also about their personal lives and his. They really go above and beyond to make you feel like a person."

Anew Transport

Employees say:"The opportunity to grow within this company is amazing. It doesn't matter if you've been here a year or 10 years, your work ethic determines your opportunities and if you are willing to put in the work, you will be rewarded for that 10 out of 10 times."

To produce the Fortune Best Workplaces in Transportation list, Fortune partnered with the people analytics firm Great Place To Work®. Great Place To Work has been surveying employees around the world about their workplace experiences for 30 years. Great Place To Work has developed a set of themes and metrics that not only reveal whether employees feel their workplace is great, but also predict retention, agility, and overall business success. Using their proprietary Trust Index™ survey, Great Place To Work measures the core of what they know creates great workplaces — key behaviors that drive trust in management, connection with colleagues, and loyalty to the company.

The survey enables employees to share confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s culture by responding to 60 statements on a five-point scale and answering two open-ended questions. Employees tell Great Place To Work whether or not their leaders are accessible, if they communicate honestly and clearly, and if their actions match their words. Employees share whether they feel respected as individuals, if they receive support for their well-being and personal development, and if they have opportunities to contribute, and appreciation for their work. They share whether they believe their company is fair related to pay, profits, promotions, recognition, favoritism, and opportunities for growth. They share if they are proud of their work, their team, and their company, if they feel they make a difference, and if their work is meaningful. And they share whether they enjoy the people they work with, if they feel cared for, and if they can be themselves. List rankings are based on this employee feedback, which is analyzed to determine the extent to which this experience is shared by the full workforce. Great Place To Work measures the differences in survey responses across demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess both the quality and consistency of the employee experience. Statements are weighted according to their relevance in describing the most important aspects of an equitable workplace.

The best companies create great work experiences not just for full-time managers, but also for their part-time employees on the front lines, for those who’ve just joined and those who’ve spent their whole career there, for every race and ethnicity, gender, neurotype, or other demographic in the organization, Great Place To Work looks at it all. Companies with the broadest set of employees who report positive workplace experience receive the highest rankings on lists.

In order to analyze employee feedback in context, Great Place To Work collects information from each company including their industry, revenue, size, and employee demographics. They identify the organizations that offer the most generous, caring and innovative cultures reflecting a genuine commitment to meet the diversity of their people’s needs inside and outside the workplace as validated by what employees themselves report in survey results.

Because employee feedback drives these rankings, surveys must meet strict requirements for how they are distributed and the percentage of employees who respond to ensure they accurately represent honest feedback from the company’s full population. To be eligible for the Fortune Best Workplaces in Transportation list, companies must be Great Place To Work Certified™, have 10 or more employees in the U.S., and be in the transportation industry. Companies appearing on Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For® list rank at the top.

In the last year, Great Place To Work surveyed companies employing 7.3 million people in the U.S. and received 1.3 million survey responses. Of those, nearly 60,000 responses were received from employees at companies who were eligible for the 2026 Fortune Best Workplaces in Transportation list, and this list is based on their feedback.
