WillowTree
"The best part of working for WillowTree is the sense of shared responsibility each employee feels. Despite the fact that we work with huge, household-name clients, the company entrusts a small group of people with delivering perfect mobile experiences. Everyone here feels like they are contributing to something crucial, and no one feels underutilized. From day one, I felt that WillowTree gave me a lot to be responsible for under our Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) model of project ownership. It keeps me engaged and excited, and I’ve never once worried about getting bored."
"WillowTree is all about loving your job, and that is immediately clear when you start working here. From the amazing location, to the amenities in the office, to the spontaneous and crazy social events - everyone up through the CEO expects the employees to have a great time. Every facet of the company’s policies are built around this idea. What makes WillowTree unique, however, is that this spirit is also very clear in the work ethic it inspires. Loving your job is about much more than having the right snacks, it is about having pride in the amazing products you produce and helping everyone feel included in the success. WillowTree focuses on celebrating employees that take the time to help others in the company learn new skills and reach outside of their own responsibilities to lend a hand. Rather than driving its employees to compete against each other for the next promotion, it encourages collaboration to bring out the best in everyone. And by doing so, WillowTree makes it very easy for us to love our jobs."
"I am not a morning person, which can make getting to work at 9 a.m. a painful experience sometimes. WillowTree’s 'Core Hours' policy has been my favorite perk. As long as you are getting the work done that you are responsible for, you are only asked to be in the office between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The company knows that having co-located teams to foster collaboration is essential, but being draconian in scheduling is not the best system. Rather than abusing this to only work 30 hour weeks, WillowTree’s employees take responsibility for creating our own schedules. This great system allows us to be the most productive versions of ourselves at the times that work best for us."
