Students enrolled in the University at Buffalo, State University of New York’s online master’s degree program in social work will study a generalist curriculum that prepares applicants for a social work career with an emphasis on trauma-informed and human rights perspectives. While there is no accelerated track, some students may be eligible for the advanced standing track if they already hold a bachelor’s degree in social work. A total of 900 hours of fieldwork practicum is required to complete the traditional track and 60 credit hours are required. The advanced standing status requires 35 credit hours and 480 fieldwork hours. The application for the online traditional program opens in September 2023 for fall 2024 admission.
