Students admitted to Dominican University’s online master’s degree program in social work can choose to focus in the specialty areas of aging, adulthood and gerontology, children, youth and family, or global social work practice for immigrants and refugees. The program also offers specialization in focus areas of health and well-being, military, and school social work. Students must complete 1,080 field hours to graduate, or 600 field hours for students with a bachelor’s degree in social work who enter the program in advanced standing. Degree completion generally takes between nine months to two years, and part-time options are available. For full-time students, applications are due in April for summer and fall.
