A provider of natural gas and natural gas liquids pipelines and services, Targa Resources owns and operates a diversified portfolio of "midstream" assets focused on gathering, processing, transporting, storing, and selling those products. These assets are located across the Permian Basin, Bakken Shale, Barnett Shale, Eagle Ford Shale, Anadarko Basin, Ardmore Basin, Arkoma Basin, and onshore Louisiana. In July 2022, Targa acquired Lucid Energy, expanding its processing footprint in the Permian's Delaware Basin in West Texas and New Mexico. In 2024, there were reports that Targa rebuffed an informal takeover offer from rival Williams Cos.; Williams denied these reports.
