The top maker of graphics cards for video games and now A.I. systems jumped up 15 places on the list this year. CEO Jensen Huang ruled out layoffs during the pandemic and initiated salary increases almost six months earlier than planned while also continuing to pay vendors and contractors in food service and janitorial roles. In all-hands meetings hosted from his kitchen at home, Huang pledged to match all employee contributions to COVID-19 relief while canceling staffers’ out-of-pocket charges for COVID-related expenses such as testing, doctor’s visits, emergency room visits, and hospital stays.
