Honeywell International
Honeywell International is an American multinational conglomerate whose history dates back to the invention of the furnace regulator (the predecessor to the modern-day thermostat) in 1885. Today, Honeywell’s 110,000 employees worldwide operate within its four principal areas of business: aerospace, building technologies, performance materials and technologies, and safety and productivity solutions. During the coronavirus pandemic, the company struggled as lockdowns halted travel and decimated demand for its aerospace products—Honeywell’s biggest division. As a result, the company transitioned several of its facilities to manufacturing N95 masks and other personal protective equipment to help combat the virus, with the goal of producing 20 million masks per month.
