General Motors

Along with Ford, General Motors is one of the oldest and most successful American auto companies. At its peak, GM was the world’s largest automaker and had a 50% market share in the U.S. It is currently the country’s largest automobile manufacturer through its four core brands: Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac. In recent years, GM has begun pushing its new environmentally friendly electric cars, especially as sales for its larger SUVs have seen steady declines. In 2017, the company debuted the Chevrolet Bolt as its first all-electric vehicle.
