Charter Communications
Charter Communications is the second largest cable TV operator in the U.S. by subscribers and the fifth largest telephone provider in the nation. The mass media and telecommunications company finalized its acquisition of Time Warner Cable and its sister company Bright House Networks for $78.7 billion in May of 2016. The deal made Charter Communications the third largest paid-television service provider in the U.S. The company, which brands its services as Charter Spectrum, is currently in the midst of an intense multibillion-dollar battle with competitors such as T-Mobile and Verizon for the highest-speed and most widely available 5G network.
