Autoliv in Fortune Rankings

Swedish American manufacturer Autoliv is the largest supplier to the automotive industry of passive safety systems, which protect occupants when a crash has already occurred. According to its own estimates, its seat belts and airbags helps prevent 600,000 injuries and save 37,000 lives a year. In 2017, the company decided to break itself in half and float its new entity Veoneer onto the stock exchange via a spinoff. As a result, Autoliv is no longer in the business of providing active safety systems, which use electronics to mitigate or prevent accidents before they occur.
