Allstate provides a wide variety of insurance products—auto, home, and life among them—throughout the U.S. and Canada. When the firm, founded in 1931, went public in 1993—parent company Sears sold nearly 20% of its holdings—it was, at the time, the largest IPO in history. The company has been known since the 1950s for its slogan “You’re in good hands."
