Albertsons

Albertsons is a Boise-based grocery company with over 2,250 stores and 270,000 employees, making it the second largest supermarket chain in North America after Kroger. The company went public in 2020, debuting at $16 per share after seeing a significant boost in sales during the coronavirus pandemic. To help combat the spread of the virus, Albertsons in 2021 began administering COVID-19 vaccines in its stores’ pharmacies throughout the U.S. Albertsons operates grocery stores under its own name as well as the Safeway brand (acquired in 2015 in a $9.2 billion deal) plus the Jewel-Osco and Acme brands, among others.
