Alaska Air Group is a U.S. company operating Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air. The company’s fleet includes a mix of more than 300 planes made by Boeing, Airbus, and Embraer. The company’s 2024 acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines enabled the airline to expand to 141 direct destinations and 29 international markets. In January 2024 the airline played a part in increased scrutiny of Boeing planes after it temporarily grounded its 65 737-9 Max aircraft after a door plug blew off one of its planes minutes after takeoff on a flight departing from Portland International Airport.
