Emily Steinberger (she/her) is an assistant photo editor at Fortune, where she works closely with the news desk to elevate the visuals for day-to-day stories. Previously, Emily interned on the photo desk of The San Francisco Standard, worked as a social media coordinator for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and photographed for her local paper, the San Mateo Daily Journal. As a freelance photojournalist, her photos have been featured in publications including AP, Reuters, The Washington Post, and The San Francisco Chronicle. She graduated from Syracuse University in 2023 with a dual degree in photojournalism and management. During that time, she worked at Syracuse’s independent, student-run publication, The Daily Orange, as photo editor and later editor-in-chief.
