Robert Hackett is a former senior writer and tech editor at Fortune. He was a co-chair of the Brainstorm Tech and Brainstorm Finance conferences and creator of The Ledger, Fortune’s crypto franchise. Robert co-authored Fortune's daily technology newsletter Data Sheet and weekly fintech newsletter The Ledger, and he frequently hosted video series. For Fortune, he wrote on a variety of topics ranging from hacking to quantum computing to crypto. Robert received national recognition for his reporting, including as a finalist for the 2018 Larry Birger Young Business Journalist Award. He also helped manage the Fortune 40 Under 40 list. Previously, Robert worked at Nautilus Magazine, TED Conferences, and Johnson & Johnson. He earned a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School and a bachelor’s degree with a double major in chemistry and English and a double minor in science and technology studies and history from Cornell University. He lives in New York.
