The granddaughter of Hong Kong billionaire Cheng Yu-tung, Sonia Cheng is chief executive of the family's hospitality business, Rosewood Hotel Group, which she took over at just 28. The Harvard graduate acquired U.S.-owned Rosewood Hotels in 2011 and transformed its portfolio, now spanning 60 hotels in 26 countries with more than 30 more in development. Cheng is also vice-chairman of the nearly century-old Chow Tai Fook Jewellery chain, which delivered a record 9 billion Hong Kong dollar profit ($1.2 billion) in its 2026 fiscal year, up 52%.
