Michelle Cheo Hui Ning

Michelle Cheo, a chemical engineer who joined in 2003 from Exxon Mobil, is CEO of Mewah International, founded by her grandfather in the early 1950s. She led its 2010 listing, is pushing into Indonesia—including a December palm oil acquisition—and sells cooking oil, rice, and soap in over 100 countries. After record 2025 revenue, first-half 2026 sales fell 6% to $2.8 billion and profit fell 69% to $11.8 million on weak demand and a July 2025 Medan plant fire that hit the consumer pack division.
