Born in France and educated in the Soviet Union, Mai Kieu Lien has run Vinamilk, Vietnam's leading dairy company, since 1992, making her one of Vietnam's longest-serving CEOs. She joined as an engineer in 1976, rising to deputy director before leading the former state enterprise through its 2003 equitization and 2006 listing on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange. Vinamilk is now its largest listed food and beverage company, worth $4.9 billion. Exports rose 25% last year, reaching 65 markets.
