Who is ZYNLO Bank good for?

If you’re searching for a bank that offers sky-high return rates for your deposit accounts, ZYNLO Bank is a serious contender. Its current APY, especially for its checking and savings accounts, is extremely generous.

ZYNLO also fits those who prefer to swipe a debit card instead of a credit card. Its ZYNG roundup features rounds up your transactions to the nearest dollar, puts that money into a special savings account, and then matches that figure up to 100%.

    Who shouldn’t use ZYNLO Bank?

ZYNLO Bank’s fully online approach may be off-putting for some. It does make up for its lack of in-person banking by offering extended customer service hours (Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., as well as weekends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Time). Still, if you place a high value on talking face-to-face with a teller, ZYNLO isn’t the right financial institution for you.

ZYNLO also only offers one CD type and term. It’s not ideal for those looking to construct a CD ladder under one roof.

    ZYNLO Bank rates and products

ZYNLO offers four account types: a checking account, savings account, MMA, and a CD. All offer competitive interest rates. Interestingly, none of these accounts have a minimum opening deposit. This makes them incredibly approachable for any financial situation.

    More Spending checking account

The ZYNLO Bank checking account, called “More Spending,” comes with no maintenance fees or minimum balance requirements.

It does come with some shortcomings, such as no check-writing privileges, but it comes with one of the most unique rewards programs of any financial institution thanks to its “ZYNG Round Up & Match” feature. In short, your debit card will round up each debit card purchase to the nearest dollar and transfer that money to your savings account. ZYNLO will then match that deposit based on the following:

    • 100% match for those with an average daily balance of at least $3,000 during the previous statement cycle
    • 25% match for those with an average daily balance under $3,000 during the previous statement cycle

As of this writing, ZYNLO also offers a promotion of a 100% ZYNG match during your first 100 days, regardless of your account balance.

    Tomorrow Savings account

ZYNLO Bank is near the top of the list when it comes to the APY you can earn with a high-yield savings account. Its savings account’s 4.20% APY has no minimum balance requirements and doesn’t demand a minimum opening deposit.

Moving your money around is easy, as well, thanks to ZYNLO’s lack of transfer limitations. Many banks limit the number of transactions you can make with your savings account to six per statement cycle—but ZYNLO allows you to access your savings as often as you want.

Another appealing feature of the account is the ability to get your paycheck up to two days in advance.

    Money Market account

An MMA is slightly different from a savings account in that it typically allows more ways to use your money than does a savings account, such as a linked debit card or check-writing privileges.

Not the case with ZYNLO’s MMA. It’s effectively a savings account, with the only real difference between it and the Tomorrow Savings account being its slightly higher 4.25% APY. Again, ZYNLO Bank doesn’t support paper checks—and its savings account already offers unlimited transactions.

    Certificate of Deposit account

ZYNLO’s approach to CDs is a narrow one. It offers one type of CD (standard) and one term length (12 months). You won’t find specialty options such as bump-up, no-penalty, or IRA CDs with this bank.

That said, the lone CD it offers is a good one, providing a 4.05% APY. Any time deposit that exceeds 4.00% is highly competitive. Just don’t plan on constructing an elaborate CD ladder with ZYNLO.

If you touch your CD before the account matures, you’ll be charged an early withdrawal penalty of three months’ interest.

    Other services ZYNLO Bank offers

Beyond the above deposit accounts, ZYNLO offers no other banking services. It’s hyper-focused on offering competitive return rates at every level of your banking experience.

    Online banking

As a 100% digital bank, ZYNLO Bank offers a comprehensive online banking experience. With its app, you can deposit checks, make transfers, set up direct deposit, pay bills, and more. Its savings account also offers a feature called Spending Folders which helps you budget for your specific goals.

The ZYNLO Bank platform and customer support

ZYNLO’s customer service is considerably more accessible than many of its competitors. You can reach an agent from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on weekends between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Eastern Time. The phone number is 844-996-5622. You can also email at support@ZYNLObank.com or send a secure message in-app (though a response from email and secure messages may take up to 48 hours).

ZYNLO’s app is decently rated and is available in both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

    Is ZYNLO Bank secure?

ZYNLO Bank ensures that your information and assets remain secure through means such as website encryption. ZYNLO says it continually examines its security safeguards to keep customer information safe.

ZYNLO Bank is also FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per account holder per ownership category.

    ZYNLO Bank user reviews

You’ll find that banks are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to online reviews. Customers tend to find their voices most often when they are dissatisfied. This means that ratings typically are low.

With that in mind, ZYNLO Bank scores an unimpressive 2.5 stars on Trustpilot (with 12 reviews as of this writing). Common complaints include poor customer service and difficulties opening a savings account. Meanwhile, customers praise the bank’s high APY and accessible customer service.

Forums like Reddit have plenty of positive comments concerning ZYNLO Bank, praising its easy bill pay and ZYNG roundup feature.

    Compare ZYNLO Bank alternatives

If you’re not convinced ZYNLO is the right fit for your needs, two alternative online banking options worth consideration are Bank5 Connect and SoFi.

Is ZYNLO Bank right for you?

For a pretty no-fee way to store your money at market-high APYs, ZYNLO Bank is a good option. Its lack of minimum opening deposit requirements, minimum balance requirements, and fees makes it a customer-friendly home for your funds. And if you tend to spend a lot on your debit card, you can’t beat the bonus earnings you’ll get from the ZYNG 100% match program.

Still, if you don’t like the idea of online-only access, ZYNLO Bank may not be for you. Also, if you want a wide selection of CDs, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
