If you thought Roblox’s CEO was earning a fat paycheck, wait until you hear what the interns are taking home.

Glassdoor’s annual look at the top paying internships around the country is out, and the fight for talent (and higher salaries) is spilling over into the trainee world. An intern at Roblox makes nearly $10,000 per month, according to the research. That’s a 9.7% increase over 2021’s top intern salary—and a huge jump from the days when unpaid internships were commonplace.

The lowest paying of the top 25 internships was just shy of $6,500 per month (from tech giant Google). That’s still 37% higher than the median monthly salary of the average American in the fourth quarter of 2021, as determined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

And while a growing number of Americans want to move to a hybrid work model, with an emphasis on remote work, the number of interns who had negative feelings about remote work increased dramatically last year, jumping from 58% in 2020 to 70% in 2021.

“Internships are often packed full of engaging activities designed to immerse interns in a real-world work environment and attract them back to the company post-graduation,” the study notes. “But with the onset of COVID-19, many of these in-person events were suddenly no longer possible…Several [interns] cited the difficulty of communication and connection in a remote environment.”

Here’s a look at the 10 highest-paying internships in the U.S. for 2022:
