For the past 15 months, most people have gotten used to working alongside their canine companions‚ and the thought of leaving them to go back to the office is almost more traumatic than the thought of facing rush hour again.

Today is National Take Your Dog to Work Day, and even if you’re back in the office, Fido may have been able to tag along. For some companies, though, that’s an everyday thing. And that brings lots of benefits.

“More and more frequently, employers and employees are discovering that pets at the workplace make them happier, lower stress levels, and create a comfortable, flexible environment,” said the University of Southern California’s Master of Science in Applied Psychology program in a blog post. “Pets can create camaraderie within the workplace and trigger interactions that may not have happened without them.”

If you’re looking for a place where your pooch can be your coworker, here are a few that are especially pet friendly.

Google

Google’s serious about dogs, but it’s less fond of cats. The company’s code of conduct makes it clear that bringing canines to work is “an integral facet of our corporate culture.” Felines, though, it thinks would be stressed out if they were to come by, so it asks employees to leave them at home. While dogs are welcome, they’re not allowed in meetings or break areas. And there are no second chances for messes or aggressive behavior.

Amazon

If you’ve ever stumbled across one of Amazon’s 404 pages, you know how much the company loves its dogs. On any given day at the Seattle headquarters, there are as many as 7,000 dogs taking their humans to work. It all started when a husband-and-wife team brought their Welsh corgi, Rufus, to work with them. (As an especially good boy, his picture adorns the office’s walls now, and a building was named after him.) Reception desks are stocked with dog treats, and one building has a doggie deck—complete with a fake fire hydrant—where dogs can run around. There’s also a community off-leash park.

Zynga

When the company is named after a pet (in this case, Mark Pincus’s dog), it’s a pretty safe bet that it will be canine friendly. Among the company’s benefits is pet insurance for dogs, and free treats are always on hand. And employees can take their pets (not just dogs) to the “wooftop” dog park to stretch their legs.

Etsy

When Etsy began in 2005, dogs were part of the plan. “Bringing our dogs to work helps keep spirits high and fosters a sense of community and connection that is paramount to what Etsy is all about,” says Sarah Starpoli, who heads the people development team at the company. Many of the dogs on site are rescues.

American Kennel Club

You had to see this one coming, right? Employees at the AKC’s Raleigh, N.C., headquarters are welcome to bring their dogs to work assuming they (the dogs) have an obedience title or passed a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test.
