Tony Ling leaves Silver Lake

FORTUNE — Tony Ling has quietly stepped down as a managing director with tech-focused private equity firm Silver Lake, Fortune has learned.

Ling originally joined Silver Lake in 2005, after having spent time at both Bain Capital and Bain & Company. His Silver Lake board seats included Go Daddy, the domain name registrar and web hosting company that reportedly is planning to return to the public markets later this year. Back in March, Go Daddy made headlines for adding former Apple (AAPL) executive Betsy Rafael to its board as the company’s first female director, but no one seemed to notice that her addition meant Ling’s subtraction (fellow Silver Lake partner Greg Mondre remains on the Go Daddy board).

Ling also is no longer a director with IPC Systems Inc., a New Jersey-based provider of trading communications systems to banks and other financial institutions.

No word yet on future plans for Ling, who has been removed from the Silver Lake website (although has not updated his own LinkedIn profile).

Fortune has reached out to a Silver Lake spokesman for comment, but has not yet received a reply.
