Razer, a Carlsbad, Calif.-based gaming hardware startup, has raised $50 million in first-round funding led by IDG-Accel China Capital Fund. www.razerzone.com

Aviir Inc., an Irvine, Calif.-based biotech company focused on cardiac disease assessment, has raised $30 million in new VC funding. The first $10 million is already called down, while the remaining $20 million is contingent on Aviir meeting certain milestones. Merck Global Health Innovation Fund led the round, and was joined by return backers Bay City Capital, Aberdare Ventures and New Leaf Venture Partners. www.aviir.com

NexSteppe, a Malibu, Calif.-based developer sustainable feedstock solutions for bio-based products, has raised $14 million in second-round funding led by Braemar Energy Ventures. www.nexsteppe.com

GMZ Energy
, a Waltham, Mass.-based developer of thermoelectric materials and systems, has raised $14 million in Series C funding. Mitsui Ventures led the round, and was joined by I2BF Global Ventures, Energy Technology Ventures and return backers Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and BP Alternative Energy. www.gmzenergy.com

EnVerv Inc.
, a San Jose, Calif.-based developer of SoC solutions for the smart grid market, has raised $12 million in Series B funding. Benchmark Capital led the round, and was joined by return backers New Enterprise Associates and Walden International. www.enverv.com

Keas
, a San Francisco-based social game for the workplace that promotes wellness and healthy living, has raised $6.5 million in Series B funding co-led by Atlas Venture and Ignition Partners..www.keas.com

Music Dealers LLC
, a Chicago-based solution for connecting independent artists and music licensors, has raised $2.18 million in Series B funding from undisclosed investors. www.musicdealers.com

Tutorspree
, a New York-based provider of online private tutoring solutions, has raised $1 million in first-round funding. Backers include Sequoia Capital, Founder Collective, Lerer Ventures, SV Angel and Thrive Capital. www.tutorspree.com
