Once a land of dairy farms, Eastvale’s prime location in Southern California—just 45 miles from downtown Los Angeles and 19 miles from Riverside—led to its eventual metamorphosis into a hub for those seeking more space and quality schools.
Forty-two percent of schools in the Corona-Norco Unified District (of which Eastvale is a part) are rated above average, according to GreatSchools, and 93% of students go on to complete high school. Its schools earn high marks in several categories, consistently besting the average among state peers.
While Eastvale’s residents often have to drive 45 minutes to their workplace, the region’s wealth of jobs in manufacturing, shipping, entertainment, and finance results in a median household income of $132,622.
Every summer the town plays host to the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival, where residents can tour vendor booths and entertainment evoking life from the 14th to 17th centuries. The community has been working to foster new traditions and events for itself as well. For instance, the second Eastvale International Food Festival will take place this year, and the monthly EATSvale Food Truck Festival returned this spring. Last year it launched a lantern Festival to celebrate the culture of its many Chinese-American residents, and in 2021 it introduced the Eek!vale Halloween festival, complete with a hay maze, costume contest, trunk-or-treat, and pumpkin patch.—KR
