Stunning sights at Vedauwoo, or “Land of the Earthborn Spirits,” according to the Native Americans who named the area, include towering granite rocks with breathtaking views from the top if rock climbing is your thing. You’ll also find Curt Gowdy State Park, which offers hiking, biking, and camping adventures.
Downtown Cheyenne features several events and festivals throughout the year, including the weekly outdoor concert series Fridays on the Plaza, and the monthly Cheyenne Art Walk, where visitors can spend a summer afternoon browsing the works on display at local businesses. The most notable annual festivity by far, however, is Cheyenne Frontier Days, one of the world’s largest outdoor Western rodeos.
