Shaista Asif cofounded PureHealth in Abu Dhabi in 2006, served as its COO for over a decade, and became Group CEO in December 2023, inheriting a health care company she had helped build from the ground up and immediately setting about transforming it into something far more global. In 2024, PureHealth acquired U.K. hospital operator Circle Health Group in a $1.2 billion deal; in 2025, it completed a $933 million equity value acquisition for a majority stake in Greece’s Hellenic Healthcare Group, crossing a milestone in which roughly 50% of PureHealth’s total assets are now held outside the UAE. The financial results have followed: PureHealth posted $7.4 billion in revenue for 2025, up 5.7% year over year; Ebitda grew 16.1% to $1.3 billion; and net profit rose 17.7% to $550 million. Beyond dealmaking, Asif launched nationwide virtual mental health services via the AI-enabled health app Pura, which is supported by licensed psychologists and psychiatrists across the UAE.
